About this Project

This website shares the collaborative research of students in the University of Wisconsin – Green Bay’s “Craft of History” course. Students, working closely with the Cofrin Library and the UW-Green Bay Archives and Area Research Center, delved into research exploring the experience of an ordinary Wisconsinite who lived during the late 19th or first-half of the 20th century. Working in small groups, the students selected a person they encountered in archival sources to research in depth. Their histories were then placed in historical context reflecting broader research questions. The result is this website, which we hope future students will continue to build in the future.
